Safeguarding Infants & Children Designated Lead (DSL) 5 hours Face-to-Face Virtual or at Your Place of Work
Our 5-hour Safeguarding Infant & Children Designated Person (DSL) L3 course is designed for those leading and managing the safeguarding process and policies within a nursery or childcare setting for infants through to those aged 8. This comprehensive course covers the most up-to-date Safeguarding legislation for Early Years.
Those working within a school environment or a children's facility should book on to our Safeguarding Children 8 years to 18 years.
This is a quick-paced advanced course, so to gain access, you must hold an L2 Advanced Safeguarding Certificate or a current DSL certificate.
Who is this course most suitable for?
This course is suitable for anyone who works with children and holds a management, supervisory or designated child protection role for children aged eight years and under. The course is suitable for anyone who has some knowledge of safeguarding procedures. Those who are not working as a Designated person or Lead Officer should consider our 3hr Advanced Safeguarding Children L2

Aims of the Course
On completion of this course, learners will:
• Know the laws, policies and guidance documents that contribute towards best safeguarding and child protection practice.
• Understand their roles and responsibilities as the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
• Know how to recognise and respond to abuse appropriately and efficiently.
• Understand the framework for safeguarding and child protection and how best to respond to children's differing levels of need under the framework.
• Know when and how to share information.
• Know how to take action should they disagree with actions or decisions made.
• Understand the importance of recording and storing information.
