How does your blended learning course work?

Our many years of training have taught us that recall is higher when using fun and interactive methods combined with visual aids.

Blended learning is delivered as a mix of trainer led practical learning and at home e-learning module. The e-learning module supplements the teaching you have received in the classroom. During the practical session, you will work with our trainer in small groups of 2 or 3 to practice and explore all areas of first aid. On completion of the practical day, you will receive a unique e-learning code that will give you access to our e-learning module.  You can log in and out of this module as often as you like and work at your own speed. On completion of the e-learning module you will receive your certificate by first class post. During the e-learning, you have access to chat with a trainer and can download first aid resources.

What time does the practical course start?

All courses held at our training venues will start promptly at 10am and will finish at 5pm. Please ensure you arrive in plenty of time for the start of the course, unfortunately, if you are late and the course has started you will be turned away and need to rebook and pay for another course.

What do I need to take to the course?

You must bring ID  so the trainer can check your identity. We advise that you wear comfortable clothes and bring a packed lunch with you.

Who are your trainers?

We have approximately 175 experienced first aid trainers who deliver courses for us across the UK. Our trainers are passionate about first aid and health & safety - many have a medical or emergency services background.

Can I take my child to the training?

Unfortunately not - we deliver work based certificated training. Therefore; it is essential that all learners are 100% focused on the day with no distrubtions.  It is also essential that all learners are present entirely for the full course, we are very strict with start and finished times.

Are there breaks in the training?

Yes; you will have two 15 minutes breaks and a lunch break of 45 minutes.

Will I be asked to complete an assessment?

Yes; to gain your certificate you will need to show competence in the subject taught. The trainer will assess your practical skills during the practical day – this assessment will be group-based. You will not be expected to demonstrate in front of the class.  You will be required to complete a number of assessments during the E-Learning and a final multiple-choice assessment. All of our trainers hold a teaching qualification; they are skilled and experienced in working with learners to gain their qualification.

What happens if I lose my certificate?

All our certificates are sent by post. If you require a replacement hard copy just simply call our admin team who will arrange this for you. Please note there is a £10 charge for a replacement certificate.
